Pikachu Contest!

So recently I partecipated to a forum contest. We had to draw pikachu for our chat moderator :). Everyone was encouraged to create a personal and cute version of the most famous pokemon in the world :)

Little update on Drawingtutorialsonline.com + One of the assignment

So it has been more than a week that I subscribed to that site and I have to admit that it really seems to be great. I love the lessons. I love how they are teached. I love that you can download a lot of those video lessons. I love that we will recive a videocritique everyweek. I love that the site is update everyweek. I love that all the videos (an insane quantity of videos) are avaiable since from the beginning.
What else should I say? I'm really happy that I caught that opportnunity.
This is a figure drawing I did for one of the homeworks assignment :).
I'm still at beginner lessons n°13.. Still have a lot to do :)!

Just a quick note this time to announce that I subscribed to drawingtutorialsonline.com
It seems a valuable offert and Matthew Archambault is currently a teacher in the SVA of New York.
So since I've already took some classes at Schoolism.com and CMGA.com why don't we give it a try?

In the next few days I'll tell you more about that :)!

Revolution

Here I'm again. Long time, not a single post. Not that I could call this a "full-of-stuff" space btw. The main reason I created this blog was to motivate myself. And to help anyone in my condition to not give up! But I did give up for a moment. Drawing, creating, telling a story was something that always engaged me, that made myself excited. But seldom in everyone's life something happend, someone decide for you or simply you let fear take over your passions and everything seems to finish or not to start at all. Now that I understand more the value of time, of ourself, of our passions and dreams, I'm again here. And I do not want to give up.
I always desired to know how to draw, to be able to create. Create everything.
But again, when I was a child my parents took for me decisions that I didn't want. When I grew up I was so afraid of bad drawings that I could help not to stop again one bad first try. But now, reading and studying, I realized that that's what I just want to do. As easy as it sounds.
So, everything has to change. And I'm starting from here. That's my revolution. And It's already happening.
Each day I'll post some of my works. Even if they are unfinished. Even if they are not even close to be decent. This is now a showcase of good drawings. This is a showcase for everything my hand and my brain will create! from scratches to sketches to final works. This in my book, this is my story, this is myself.

Cintiq and Comicon-tiq

Hi Everyone!
Few days ago, or maybe a month already, I had the opportunity to check out the new 22 inch-esh wacom cintiq..
Ok, the first things first. At the end of june, my city was invaded by otakus, for the annual convention about games, mangas and comics in general. Here in Naples it's called Comicon. I used to go there almost every year when I had the opportunity. This year, I did. I went there with some friends/collegues of mine the very first day.
It was freaking awesome! I was even able to see some smurfs doing the gangnam style all togheter (unfortunately I didn't take a photo of this rare moment). Most of those guys did not have more than 20 years, so it was a very full of creativity place.. which is strange for my city, since the only thing people usually think of is football (a thing that I quite dislike).
During our tour inside the shopping markets we found out a stand full of cintiq tablets. Those guys organized a little competition for promoting an expensive school in Rome.
One of my friends is actually a storyborder artist quite talented but he's really too shy. So I told him, "you have to try, if you try I bet you'll win".
Then he convinced me to partecipate at this contest too. I'm not even close to its abilities but I decided to give it a shot! At least I would have tried the new cintiq.

Wanna know somehting? It was great! There was absolutely no delay in the stroke, the pixel resolution was perfect, and it really felt much more comfortable than a regular bamboo or intuos (which I both have). This 22 inches model is really bigger than you imagine. If you have in front of you a 20 inches or more tft monitor, imagine to stick your face really close to that screen and try to draw. Now take this sensation and amplify that twice. I don't know you guys but after a few minutes I found myself working only on a small portion of it. But I suppose it's just a matter of practicing :). It was like have a big old canvas placed horizontally on your desk

I can really explain that feeling.. It's really like drawing on paper, but i'ts different. You shold try that sooner or later.. No, what am I sayng! Don't try it! Don't even think about it, unless you do want to get bewitched by that thing! Like I'm now.. I really want one!
